Are the BigData Boutique certifications really free?
Yes. The exams, the topic-by-topic results and the certificates are free. There is no course to buy and no account to create before you start. You enter your name and email only at the end, to receive your results and, if you pass, your certificate.
Which certification should I take, OpenSearch or Elasticsearch?
Take the one that matches the engine you run. The two share core concepts such as shards, mappings and Query DSL, but differ in newer features, lifecycle management and security. Both exams are free, so engineers who work with both engines often take both.
Are these official OpenSearch or Elastic certifications?
No. They are independent certifications issued by BigData Boutique. Elastic runs its own paid certification exams, and the Linux Foundation has announced the OpenSearch Certified Associate (OSCA). Our free exams are a way to prove your knowledge now and to practice before an official exam.
How can an employer verify a certificate?
Every certificate has a unique verification link on bigdataboutique.com. Opening it shows the holder's name, score and issue date. Certificates are cryptographically signed, so the details cannot be edited or forged.
