What Our Clients Say
BigData Boutique's deep expertise on Flink framework helped Lukka deliver results needed to service demanding Blockchain data application.
BigData Boutique have a deep understanding of Flink and Kafka, and were able to provide us with valuable insights and advice throughout our project. Their expertise in data engineering using Flink was particularly impressive.
BigData Boutique guided us through Flink's convoluted world, integrating the framework into our production environment using the best practices.
Thanks to BigData Boutique's assistance, we achieved a remarkable reduction in compute utilization — by as much as 70% — while also improving Flink job reliability and significantly decreasing historical run times.
Data Processing at Scale
Apache Flink is a proven and tested big data technology being widely used for data processing at scale — from stream analytics to ETL, machine learning, and data ingestion pipelines.
Our experts have been working with Apache Flink since its introduction in 2011 and have the results to back it up. Besides top-notch managed services and ongoing support, BigData Boutique will help you maximize optimization and performance.
Where Teams Bring Us in for Apache Flink
Flink is powerful and unforgiving. Most of our Flink consulting engagements start with one of these problems.
Checkpoints that time out
State that grew past what RocksDB and the checkpoint interval were tuned for, with jobs restarting from hours-old savepoints. We fix state backend configuration, incremental checkpointing, and the operators that hold too much state.
Backpressure and lag
A pipeline that keeps up until the evening peak, then never catches up. We find the slow operator, fix parallelism and keying, and tune the sinks that are usually the real bottleneck.
Flink on Kubernetes done right
The Flink Kubernetes Operator, application versus session mode, resource sizing, and high availability, set up so jobs survive node failures and upgrades without manual intervention.
Building the first streaming pipeline
Moving from nightly batch to real-time with Kafka, Flink, and Iceberg or ClickHouse sinks, with exactly-once semantics and the monitoring to prove it.
How a Flink Engagement Works
Scoping call
A 30-minute call about your jobs and the problem. You meet the engineer who will lead the work.
Pipeline review
A one- to two-week review of job graphs, state, checkpoints, and infrastructure that produces a prioritized findings report.
Implementation
Changes made with your team, validated in staging with replayed traffic, with latency and lag measured before and after.
Support or handoff
Runbooks for your team, an hours bank, or a production support plan with an SLA.

Apache Flink Consulting FAQ
What do your Apache Flink consulting services include?
Pipeline and job design, state and checkpoint tuning, Flink on Kubernetes with the Flink Kubernetes Operator, upgrades, integration with Kafka, Iceberg, ClickHouse, and OpenSearch, training, and production support with an SLA. We work with self-managed Flink, Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink, Confluent, and Ververica.
How is Flink consulting priced?
Pipeline reviews, migrations, and tuning sprints are quoted as fixed-scope projects. Ongoing work runs on a pre-paid hours bank or monthly retainer, and production coverage is an annual support plan with an SLA. We do not publish list prices; you receive a written quote, and meet the engineer leading the work, before anything is billed.
Is there a minimum engagement?
No long-term commitment is required. Most clients start with a one- to two-week pipeline review or a small hours bank, then decide whether to continue.
Can you help us run Flink on Kubernetes?
Yes. We set up and tune the Flink Kubernetes Operator, choose between application and session mode, size TaskManagers and state, and configure high availability so jobs recover from node failures and upgrades without manual intervention.
Flink or Spark Structured Streaming or Kafka Streams?
It depends on latency requirements, state size, and what your team already runs. Flink is the strongest choice for low-latency, stateful processing at scale; Spark Structured Streaming fits teams already on Spark or Databricks with near-real-time needs; Kafka Streams fits lightweight processing inside a JVM service. We have run all three in production and will give you a recommendation for your workload rather than a generic one.
Do you provide Flink production support?
Yes. Our enterprise support plans cover Flink pipelines with defined response times, on-call coverage, upgrades, and proactive reviews, usually alongside the Kafka and analytics systems the pipeline connects to.
